Distributed Cross-layer Design for Video Applications Based on Potential Games

چکیده

An efficient resource allocation scheme in resource-limited wireless network is important for QoS of multimedia applications. In this paper a distributed cross-layer design for video streaming is proposed to guarantee QoS level and fairness of different users, and to increase the total video throughputs of networks. Bandwidth allocation in MAC layer and rate adaptation in application layer are jointly considered. In the process of optimization, game theory is employed to find the optimal solution in distributed way, and Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO) method is used to solve constraint optimization problem for each user. Users are regarded as players in games, and a potential distributed optimization process is modeled. Simulations in LTE-Advanced simulation platform prove that our proposed scheme is efficient.
